Watershed Park, Delta: Pinewood Elementary Entrance
Registration starts 5pm,
Stations run from 5:30-8:30pm
Cost $5 each

Come on out to our popular fall event! Older Scouting and Guiding youth prepare and host
unique and fun stations through the forest after dark for the younger sections. The Canadian Path at work. Open to Beaver Scouts, Sparks, Cub Scouts, Brownies, Friends, Siblings, Parents, and of course Scouters and Guiders!
Bring a flashlight, lug-a-mug, and make sure you dress for the weather because we play rain or shine!

You are welcome to piece together your patrols for the evening as long as your paperwork is in order and ratio is maintained. So as not to overwhelm the stations, we ask that you organize your patrol with a limit of 12 participating youth (registered, siblings, friends). Leaders, parents, guardians are in addition to this number. Smaller patrols are of course welcome!

Please complete and bring the following registration form, with cash or a cheque (payable to Scouts Canada: WestSurDel Area). Hope to see you soon!

Scouters, Rovers and Venturers,

The WestSurDel Area hosts a Family Fun Night once a year, it's an event put on for the Beavers, Cubs, Sparks and Brownies. They go through Delta Watershed Park at night and participate in the different stations put on by the scouts, Venturers, Rovers, Pathfinders and Rangers.

We are looking for groups interested in putting on a station. We provide hotdogs and snacks and hot chocolate at 4pm on the Saturday for any groups that run a station as well as an opportunity to sleep over on October 21st, Saturday night with no fee for camping. The group will have to provide their own equipment and food for any meal other than the hotdogs at 4pm. It's a great way to network with other groups and get some service hours.

If you are interested and able to help out, please Contact Sarah Collier at sarah_collier@dccnet.com or 604-613-6506

Mark your calendars! The sixth annual Vancouver Mini Maker Faire is happening on June 10-11, 2017 at the PNE Forum.

The Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.

Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.

This year Scouts Canada STEM will be there sponsoring a booth and a free activity - Robot Hand Construction. All tickets are good for both days. If you order online in advance you will save 20%. Buy tickets here: http://makerfaire.ca/

The STEM team is looking for volunteers to help run the booth and activity. We will be showing robots and other STEM examples. Please contact Tony at tonymarkeng@shaw.ca if you know anyone interested in helping out.
